Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) is situated in South Lake Tahoe, California, at an elevation of 6,229 feet in the Sierra Nevada mountains, approximately 190 miles northeast of San Francisco. The 164-acre wooded campus, established in 1975, features contemporary alpine-style architecture that reflects its mountain setting and includes both academic buildings and outdoor recreational facilities designed for year-round use. LTCC operates on a quarter system and serves both local students and those drawn to the region's outdoor recreation opportunities, with notable programs in wilderness education, fire science, and culinary arts. The college maintains partnerships with regional four-year institutions for transfer pathways and houses a comprehensive student center that includes the only public gymnasium in South Lake Tahoe.
