El Camino College Compton Center

Overview

El Camino College-Compton Center is a public community college located in Compton, California, serving as an educational institution in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The center operates as a satellite campus of El Camino College since an agreement in 2006, after the original Compton Community College was forced to close due to loss of accreditation. The campus provides a range of associate degree programs, certificates, and transfer opportunities to four-year universities, with particular emphasis on nursing, business, and technology. While El Camino College-Compton Center primarily offers commuter options, with no on-campus housing available, it fosters a vibrant environment through its local outreach and diverse student body. Despite the lack of a major intercollegiate athletic program, the institution focuses on academic and career-oriented resources that respond to the needs of the community and its students. The center maintains an open enrollment policy, thus features a generally accessible admissions process.

El Camino College Compton Center has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  740 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 3,342 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $1,104 plus fees of $38.
