Located in the small town of Weed, California, and nestled at the base of Mount Shasta, College of the Siskiyous offers a scenic campus setting that mirrors its emphasis on outdoor and environmental education. Established in 1957, this public community college serves students with a variety of associate degree and certificate programs, with a particularly strong focus on fire science due to the area's natural forestry and fire ecology. The college maintains a moderately selective admissions process. Students have access to on-campus housing, which is available in the form of residence halls. While the institution does not stand out for its athletic programs on a national scale, it provides a range of sports and recreational activities suited to its mountainous and verdant environment. College of the Siskiyous is located approximately 60 miles from the larger city of Redding, offering the serenity of a rural community while not being too distant from urban conveniences.

College of the Siskiyous has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  516 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 688 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $1,380 plus fees of $64.
