California State Polytechnic University-Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) is a public polytechnic university located in Pomona, California, approximately 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. Founded in 1938, the university is known for its philosophy of "learn by doing," which emphasizes hands-on and experiential learning.
