American Jewish University (AJU) occupies two campuses in Los Angeles: the main Familian campus in Bel Air and the Brandeis-Bardin campus in Simi Valley. The Bel Air location, situated in the Santa Monica Mountains, features modern academic buildings and residential facilities spread across 22 acres overlooking the city. Established in 1947 as the University of Judaism before merging with the Brandeis-Bardin Institute in 2007, AJU focuses on undergraduate and graduate programs in Jewish studies, education, business, and nonprofit management. The university maintains a small, selective undergraduate enrollment and houses students in on-campus residence halls at the Familian campus. The Brandeis-Bardin location serves primarily as a retreat and conference center, hosting educational and cultural programs throughout the year.
