Located in the mountains of central Arizona, Prescott College sits in the small city of Prescott, approximately 100 miles north of Phoenix. The campus, situated among the Bradshaw Mountains and Prescott National Forest, consists of both modern academic buildings and repurposed historic structures in downtown Prescott. Founded in 1966 with a focus on environmental studies and experiential education, the college maintains small class sizes and offers programs in environmental studies, psychology, education, and adventure education. The institution operates on a block scheduling system where students focus intensively on one course at a time, often incorporating field studies and hands-on learning throughout the Southwest region. While traditional dormitory housing is available for first-year students, many upperclassmen choose to live in college-owned houses or apartments in the surrounding community.
