Oakwood University, located in Huntsville, Alabama, is a private historically Black Seventh-day Adventist institution established in 1896. Positioned near the technological hub of Huntsville, also known as "Rocket City" due to its association with the aerospace industry, Oakwood offers a suburban campus setting spread across 1,185 acres. The university is characterized by its Neo-Gothic architectural style, contributing to a distinct campus atmosphere. Academic programs at Oakwood are diverse, with a strong emphasis on the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Education & Social Sciences, the School of Religion, and the School of Business. Particularly noted programs include Biology, Health Sciences, and Theology.
