It is a very fun and inviting college. It can be difficult your first year, but it is worth it. By the end of your 4 years you will have made so many new and great friends along the way.

VMI is a MILITARY college. Student life is highly regimented with students or 'cadets' wearing uniforms, attending military duty, living in a barracks with a very Spartan life style. Both the academics and the lifestyle required of a cadet are challenging which tends to reduce graduation rates. A student must succeed not only in class, but in a challenging extracurricular environment.
