This school is great for kids who would benefit from a softer transition from home to the real world. Smaller size makes it manageable to get to all your classes fairly quickly (20 minute walk from one end to the other) and without the need for a car. Lovely brick walkways connect all the buildings throughout campus, with no roads to cross. You feel safe walking around campus at night. Class sizes are typically small. Your professors know you and are accessible. The campus is BEAUTIFUL. Overall a great school for those who want to think, expect to work, and prioritize growth and leading a balanced life. This is not a party school. Don't come here if you want Greek life, keggers, and football games. There's always something to do on campus, but if you want to go off campus you can make the quick walk to historic downtown Fredericksburg or travel an hour north to DC or south to Richmond.
