Founded in 1957, Lubbock Christian University is a private Christian institution situated in the city of Lubbock, Texas, within the larger South Plains region and located approximately 120 miles south of Amarillo. The 155-acre campus exudes a modern feel with facilities designed to incorporate natural lighting and enhance the learning environment. Lubbock Christian University holds to its roots in the Churches of Christ tradition and maintains a vibrant campus life, with on-campus housing available to students in the form of residence halls and apartments. Academically, the university offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, with notable emphasis on Nursing, Education, and Biblical Studies. It exhibits a moderately selective admissions process. Despite not being primarily recognized for its athletic programs, LCU competes in the NCAA Division II as the Chaparrals, also known as the Chaps, with basketball and baseball being among the sports offered.
