Founded in 1794, Tusculum College is a private Presbyterian institution located in Greeneville, Tennessee, nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, approximately 70 miles from Knoxville. It holds the distinction of being the oldest university in Tennessee and the 28th oldest in the nation. The campus architecture reflects a blend of historic buildings and modern facilities, set on a picturesque 140-acre campus which provides a mix of traditional and apartment-style housing for students. Known for its Civic Arts curriculum, Tusculum College integrates civic responsibility into its programs, with particular strengths in business, education, and sports science. The college operates on a block schedule known as the Focus Plan, allowing in-depth study of one course at a time. With an inclusive admissions policy, Tusculum admits a wide range of students, balancing accessibility with academic preparedness. While the college is not primarily known for its athletic programs, it competes in NCAA Division II as the Pioneers across a variety of sports.

In the most recent statistical year 1,369 prospective students applied, and 1,110 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 146 enrolled in the school.  1,026 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 277 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $26,558 plus fees of $650.
