Providence College, a private Catholic institution in Providence, Rhode Island, was established in 1917 by the Dominican Friars. Distinguished by its suburban setting, the college offers a blend of traditional Gothic architecture and modern facilities, embodying a serene academic atmosphere within its 105-acre campus. Strategically located approximately two hours from Boston and three hours from New York City, Providence College allows students the tranquility of a suburban campus with access to urban centers. It provides a rigorous liberal arts education and is particularly known for its programs in business, education, and professional studies. The college offers a selective admissions process and maintains a commitment to residential living, with a majority of its undergraduate students residing on campus. Providence College also competes in Division I athletics, notably in men?s basketball, where the Friars have gained recognition.
