As an Ivy League university, consistently a Top 15 National University with a very unique, liberal curriculum allowing a student to focus on a major/minor without spending time on irrelevant courses. Admissions competition is beyond extreme with more than 32,000 applications in 2019 with only 2,200 admitted. Forget it if you aren't in the 90th percentile across the board. Typical cost for a Ivy school, but don't expect much help if your parents have the money tp spend $80,000-$100,000 a year. Brown is NOT a party school even though it has a fraternity system of sorts. It is co-ed now, so if you want to find an intellectual partner, you can find one at Brown if you look hard enough. Located in downtown Providence, RI, it doesn't have the attractiveness of say a Cornell, but you don't go to Brown for aesthetics. It does have an ROTC program, but by history and its nature, it is extremely liberal politically and basically non-religious. 1st choice after the Big 3 Ivies.
