The University of North Dakota (UND), located in Grand Forks, roughly 80 miles south of the Canada-United States border, was established in 1883, six years before North Dakota attained statehood. With its campus marked by distinct English Gothic architecture, UND is the state's oldest and largest university, offering a comprehensive range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs. Known particularly for its aviation and aerospace studies, the university also features a well-regarded School of Engineering & Mines and a Law School.
