The Sage Colleges, located in Troy, New York, is a private educational institution comprised of three schools: Russell Sage College for undergraduate women, a coeducational graduate school, and the School of Professional & Continuing Education. Situated in the historic city of Troy, roughly 150 miles north of New York City, the institution offers a picturesque campus noted for its blend of classical and modern architecture. Since its establishment in 1916 by Margaret Olivia Slocum Sage, The Sage Colleges have evolved to offer a broad range of undergraduate and graduate programs, with particular recognition in fields such as Health Sciences, Education, and Management. Russell Sage College provides on-campus housing options to foster a living-learning environment. The college historically maintains a moderately selective admission process. While The Sage Colleges may not be predominantly known for athletics, they participate in NCAA Division III sports as part of the Empire 8 Athletic Conference.
