Great school with great people and better outcomes. RIT is a huge private school. It's primarily a resident campus, with a thriving social scene - there is always something fun going on: every day, any time. However the social scene isn't the same as the state school variety. For example, parties are smaller, tamer, and less common than state schools. Dating fellow students is comparatively more difficult due to the gender imbalance. RIT is dedicated to preparing you for employment, not just expensive babysitting for a piece of paper. This is reflected in a lot of the student attitudes and the general feel is a school of geeks combined with makers and doers. RIT's co-op program requires most majors to find paid internships in order to graduate, which gives students valuable experience and also a certain discipline or motivation. I was in a large state school and fraternity before transferring here, and I'm very glad I did. Strong recommend.
