The University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), founded in 1869, serves as Nebraska's flagship public research university and is located in the city of Lincoln, approximately 60 miles southwest of Omaha. Encompassing over 600 acres and distinguished by a blend of traditional and modern architecture, UNL sits amid a vibrant urban setting while retaining a campus atmosphere conducive to academic pursuits and collaborative research. It offers a comprehensive array of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, with particular acclaim in fields such as engineering, agriculture, business, and law. While the university practices selective admissions, it maintains a broad undergraduate enrollment. On-campus housing is available, with multiple residential communities providing living accommodations for students. UNL is a member of the Big Ten Conference, with its athletic teams, known as the Cornhuskers, enjoying a strong reputation, especially in collegiate football.
