Boston College (BC), a private Jesuit research university established in 1863, is located in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Just six miles west of downtown Boston, the campus features collegiate gothic architecture and provides a suburban environment within close proximity to an urban center. Boston College offers a broad array of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs, with notable strengths in its Carroll School of Management, Lynch School of Education and Human Development, and Connell School of Nursing. The university's academic profile is characterized by a highly selective admissions process. On-campus living is an integral part of the BC experience, with a majority of undergraduates residing in university housing.
