I got into UMD and UMBC and chose to go to UMBC. WORST decision of my life. This school is so small and so quiet. There is no nightlife, no party or bar scene and there is not much to do on campus or in the surrounding area. You have to go to Baltimore city if you want any kind of nightlife, but the city isn't the safest place to be at night. The school is very isolated, most students seem to be commuters and on-campus housing is overpriced and abysmal. The school is also very inaccessible to individuals with disabilities or injuries as on-campus apartments DO NOT have elevators and the campus is set atop a hill. Elevators in academic buildings are either broken, under maintenance or get stuck when you use them. When the weekend comes, the campus empties out as most kids go home since staying on campus is lonely and depressing. I honestly would not recommend anyone go to this school, but if you do then please tour the school and ask actual students what they think of it.
