Iowa Wesleyan College sits on a 60-acre campus in Mount Pleasant, a small southeastern Iowa town located 45 miles west of the Mississippi River and 75 miles southeast of Iowa City. Founded in 1842, it is the oldest coeducational college west of the Mississippi River and operates as a private liberal arts institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The college features a mix of historic and modern buildings, including Old Main, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Iowa Wesleyan offers undergraduate programs with particular focus on business administration, education, and nursing, while maintaining a traditional liberal arts curriculum. Residential students are housed in three campus dormitories, with McKibbin Hall serving as the primary first-year residence hall.
