Iowa Wesleyan University, established in 1842, is a private liberal arts college located in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, approximately 50 miles south of Iowa City. As one of the oldest institutions west of the Mississippi River, Iowa Wesleyan integrates a rich history with its academic offerings, which include popular majors such as Nursing, Education, Business, and Human Services. The college maintains a moderately selective admissions process and provides a close-knit campus atmosphere where students can engage in a variety of collegiate experiences within a rural setting. The historic campus is noted for its blend of traditional architecture and includes residential facilities that house a significant portion of the student body. While Iowa Wesleyan is not primarily known for its athletic programs, it does compete in the NAIA as the Tigers in various sports.

In the most recent statistical year 2,975 prospective students applied, and 2,404 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 193 enrolled in the school.  767 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 104 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $33,550 plus fees of $1,150.
