The University of Notre Dame, located in Notre Dame, Indiana, is a private Catholic research university established in 1842. Situated just outside South Bend, approximately 90 miles east of Chicago, the campus spans over 1,250 acres and is notable for its landmark French Gothic architecture, particularly the Golden Dome of the Main Building. The university offers an array of undergraduate and graduate programs, with a strong emphasis on research and a reputation for rigorous academics.
