LaGrange College, located in LaGrange, Georgia, approximately 60 miles southwest of Atlanta, is a private liberal arts institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The college, established in 1831 as a women's academy and later becoming coeducational in 1953, occupies a hillside campus featuring a mix of historic antebellum and modern buildings in the heart of LaGrange. Operating as the oldest private college in Georgia, LaGrange College maintains selective admission standards and offers undergraduate programs with particular strengths in nursing, business, education, and performing arts. The residential campus houses the majority of its students in traditional dormitories and apartment-style accommodations, and the LaGrange Panthers compete in NCAA Division III athletics as members of the Collegiate Conference of the South.
