Armstrong State University, located in the coastal city of Savannah, Georgia, operated as a public institution from 1935 until its consolidation with Georgia Southern University in 2018. The former 268-acre suburban campus, now known as the Armstrong Campus of Georgia Southern University, features Spanish moss-draped oak trees and modern academic buildings characteristic of coastal Georgia architecture. Before consolidation, Armstrong was recognized for its health sciences programs, particularly nursing and allied health, along with its liberal arts and education curricula. The campus maintains student housing facilities consisting of suite-style residence halls and apartment complexes, primarily serving undergraduate students. As part of Georgia Southern University, the Armstrong Campus continues to serve as a significant educational center in coastal Georgia, maintaining its focus on health professions education and undergraduate studies.
