Palomar College is a public community college located in San Marcos, California, approximately 35 miles north of downtown San Diego. The main campus, situated on 200 acres in northern San Diego County, features modern academic facilities and education centers amid rolling hills and native coastal sage scrub habitat. The college, established in 1946, serves the region through its main campus and education centers in Fallbrook, Rancho Bernardo, and Escondido. Palomar offers more than 250 associate degree and certificate programs, with notable strengths in nursing, fire technology, emergency medical education, and performing arts. The campus includes dedicated facilities for STEM education, a newly constructed Library/Learning Resource Center, and a planetarium that serves both students and the community.
