MiraCosta College is a public two-year community college located in coastal Oceanside, California, approximately 40 miles north of San Diego. The main campus, situated on 121 hillside acres overlooking the Pacific Ocean, serves North San Diego County alongside satellite locations in Cardiff and Carlsbad. Established in 1934 as Oceanside-Carlsbad Junior College, MiraCosta offers more than 100 associate degree and certificate programs, with notable strengths in biotechnology, nursing, and arts and media. The college maintains transfer agreements with the University of California and California State University systems, while also providing career technical education and workforce development programs. The Oceanside campus features modern classroom facilities, a library, science laboratories, and a recently expanded student services center, though the college operates as a non-residential campus without student housing.
