John Brown University, located in Siloam Springs, Arkansas near the Oklahoma border, is a private, interdenominational Christian institution established in 1919 by evangelist and radio broadcaster John E. Brown Sr. The 200-acre campus combines traditional red-brick architecture with modern facilities in a small-town setting approximately 80 miles from Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a selective liberal arts university, JBU offers undergraduate programs with particular strengths in business, engineering, education, and visual arts, while maintaining a core curriculum rooted in Christian teaching. The university requires all full-time undergraduate students to live on campus unless they meet specific exemption criteria, and competes in the NAIA Sooner Athletic Conference, primarily focusing on soccer and basketball programs.
