The University of Alabama, located in Tuscaloosa and founded in 1831, is a public research university that offers a broad spectrum of undergraduate and graduate programs. It sits approximately 60 miles southwest of Birmingham, nestled along the Black Warrior River, and is characterized by its historic and antebellum architecture, particularly the iconic Rotunda reminiscent of the ancient Pantheon. The campus provides on-campus housing options for students in a variety of residence halls.
