Does anyone know if Florida State University superscores the SAT? My counselor mentioned some Southern schools doing it, but I haven't seen clear info about FSU.

Florida State University does superscore the SAT for all applicants. This means FSU will take your highest section scores from different test dates to create your best possible composite score. When you submit multiple SAT scores, FSU's admissions office will automatically combine your highest Math score and your highest Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score, even if these scores come from different test dates.
When applying to FSU, you should submit all of your SAT scores from every test date. The university's system will automatically calculate your superscore by selecting your best section scores. For example, if you scored 650 in Math and 600 in Reading/Writing on your first attempt, then got 600 in Math and 680 in Reading/Writing on your second try, FSU would use the 650 Math and 680 Reading/Writing for a superscore of 1330.
FSU's superscoring policy benefits you as an applicant because it allows you to focus on improving one section at a time when retaking the SAT. You can concentrate on raising your Math score in one sitting and your Reading/Writing score in another, knowing that FSU will consider your best performance in each section. This approach often helps students achieve a higher overall composite score for their college application.
For the 2024 admissions cycle, while FSU maintains test-optional policies, submitting SAT scores can still strengthen your application. The middle 50% range for admitted students typically falls between 1200-1340, but remember that these scores represent the total superscore, not necessarily scores from a single test date.
