Does University of Florida still require SAT or ACT scores for admission? I'm about to apply, and I heard some schools made them optional, but I'm not sure about UF. If anyone knows, could you please share? And also, if they're optional, would submitting them give me a better chance?

The University of Florida requires either SAT or ACT scores for first-year admission in 2024. Unlike some universities that adopted test-optional policies during the pandemic, UF has maintained its standardized testing requirement. You must submit official scores from either test as part of your application package.
For SAT scores, UF will consider your highest section scores from different test dates, using a "superscoring" approach. This means they'll combine your highest Math score and highest Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score, even if they're from separate test dates. Similarly, for the ACT, they'll create a superscore using your highest section scores across multiple test attempts.
While UF doesn't set strict minimum test score requirements, the middle 50% range for admitted students typically falls between 1330-1470 for the SAT and 30-34 for the ACT. These scores are considered alongside your GPA, course rigor, extracurricular activities, and other application components in UF's holistic review process.
The University of Florida accepts scores from SAT tests taken through January for Spring admission and through June for Summer/Fall admission. For the ACT, they accept scores through December for Spring admission and through June for Summer/Fall admission. It's recommended to take your tests well before these deadlines to ensure your scores arrive in time for consideration.
