Superscoring policy at University of Illinois

Does anyone know if the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign does superscoring for the SAT? I want to make sure I report the best scores possible.

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign does use superscoring for SAT scores. When you submit multiple SAT test scores, UIUC will automatically create a superscore by taking your highest Math section score and your highest Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section score, even if they're from different test dates. This means you can take the SAT multiple times and UIUC will consider your best section scores to create your highest possible composite score.

When applying to UIUC, you should submit all your SAT scores through the official testing agency. The university will then automatically calculate your superscore from all submitted results. For example, if you scored 650 in Math and 600 in ERW on your first attempt, then 600 in Math and 680 in ERW on your second attempt, UIUC would use the 650 Math and 680 ERW to create a superscore of 1330.

The university recommends sending all your test scores rather than trying to select individual scores yourself. This ensures they have all the information needed to calculate your best possible superscore. There's no disadvantage to sending lower scores since only your highest section scores will be used in the final evaluation of your application.

Keep in mind that while test scores are important, UIUC takes a holistic approach to admissions, considering your entire academic record, including grades, course rigor, extracurricular activities, and essays alongside your standardized test scores.
